*******COSTUME ATTIRE ONLY*******

Now that we have made our plans we must now prepare to look and be "The Fliest & Most Disguise" person there..feel me. So shall we........
First on our list is to define what we are attending:

  • a Masquerade ball is an event which the participants attend in costume, usually wearing a mask. (A masque is a formal written and sung court pageant.)
    Such gatherings, festivities of
Carnival, were paralleled from the fifteenth century by increasingly elaborate allegorical Entries, pageants and triumphal processions celebrating marriages and other dynastic events of late medieval court life. Masquerade balls were extended into costumed public festivities in Italy during the 15Th century Renaissance (Italian, maschera). They were generally elaborate dances held for members of the upper classes, and were particularly popular in Venice. They have been associated with the tradition of the Venetian Carnival.

Now that we have established the meaning of what we are attending, must now decide on our attire.

Masquerade ball attire can vary as well as anything. Because it all comes down to who or what you want to portray.

Your ideas can vary between Historical Costumes to General Costumes.

Under Historical Costumes you have:

  • Classical Antiquity
  • Renaissance
  • Pirates and 18Th Century
  • 795-1837 Regency
  • 1812-1865 Old South
  • 1837-1901 Victorian
  • 1865-1890 Wild West
  • 1901-1918 Edwardian
  • 1920s-1980s

Now that we have our ideas or some sense of what or who we want to be
... LET'S GO SHOPPING!!!!!
There are lots of places that you can go to find just what you're looking for. Target offers different items associated with the evening at their locations, Halloween U.S.A carries a number of different costumes fit for the evening but who says that you have to go out and spend your money to look great when you could look right in your closet and find the perfect item while adding a couple of adjustments here and there. It's not the amount of money you spend to look great but the amount of time you invest to look great. So have fun deciding what to wear but whatever you choose, you'll have an awesome time regardless.
See you there!!!!
